Finite Element Analysis

WHAT WE OFFER

Finite Element Analysis

At BWCE, we excel in modelling and analysing intricate structures using advanced finite element analysis techniques. We utilize the powerful Strand7 software package for comprehensive structural assessments.

Our experienced team can tailor the analysis approach to meet specific project requirements, whether it involves a straightforward linear analysis, natural frequency determination, or harmonic response analysis. We also assess structures for transient loads, accounting for the effects of moving objects and structural movements.

Strand7 equips us with a comprehensive set of tools that our skilled engineers leverage to assess design requirements efficiently. We are adept at quickly modifying structures, such as adding stiffeners to flanges, and re-analysing to identify sustainable and optimal solutions.

With a wealth of experience in FEA design, BWCE is confident in providing structural analysis services for various static structures, including tower frames, tanks, foundations, bins, and more. Our approach prioritizes safety, considering factors like the number of cycles and design life, all grounded in engineering best practices.

400 Tonne Hopper

A replacement 400 tonnes hopper designed to allow installation in six segments and ease of transportation. The hopper was designed using finite element analysis.

OREFLOW HOPPER, FEEDER AND CONVEYOR

BWCE completed the structural design and structural verification for the Hopper, feeder and conveyor. The hopper is designed to be mobile and is intended to be loaded by a front-end loader. Local company Oreflow fabricated and supplied the equipment for Alcoa.

Salt Loading Hopper & Conveyors

Fully fabricated from stainless steel the loading hopper and conveyors handle loading and transfer of bulk salt. B. Waddell Consulting engineers completed the civil and structural design and certification for the equipment.

Existing 30m High Scrubber Stack

The existing stack was severely corroded at the base. Sections of the stack wall were completely corroded through. Following site measurements the stack was modelled using FEA to determine the best approach to strengthening the Stack.

Screen Lifting Certification

BWCE completed lifting checks for the screen, support beams and provided structural verification for the lifting lugs. The screen was fabricated by Local company Oreflow.

Underground Water Tanker

FEA model of underground water tanker including internal baffles. FEA model included moving loads, hydrostatic loads, sloshing loads and tipping.
